by Leo Vegoda 21 Oct '26

21 Oct '26

Hi, We deployed 2.84.0 to production earlier on 21 October, 2026. The key new feature in this release is a change to the operational attribute in netixlan objects. There are now four values (Provisioning, Operational, Non-Operational, and De-Provisioning) to help communicate network presence. This release also includes other minor improvements and bug releases. You can read the release notes at: https://docs.peeringdb.com/release_notes/ The draft specification of v3 of the API is still open for comment. You can read it here: https://docs.peeringdb.com/api_v3/ And comment by creating a GitHub issue or on the mailing list: https://lists.peeringdb.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pdb-apiv3-discuss As always, let us know at support at peeringdb.com with any comments/questions/concerns. Draft Spec for API v3 and September Release
by Leo Vegoda 23 Sep '26

23 Sep '26

Hi, We've published a draft specification for a new API. It's designed to be served from multiple public locations. It also supports efficient composite queries. For instance "a network with its exchange presences, an exchange with its members, or a facility with its occupants." We need your input to refine it. Read the spec here: https://docs.peeringdb.com/api_v3/ Join the discussion list here: https://lists.peeringdb.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pdb-apiv3-discuss We've deployed the current release, 2.83.0, to production. Based on August's test, we're continuing to release directly to production after internal testing. Release notes are here: https://docs.peeringdb.com/release_notes/ More on our release process is here: https://docs.peeringdb.com/blog/public_beta/ As always, let us know at support at peeringdb.com if you have comments/questions/concerns. PeeringDB 2.80.0 beta release completed on 2026-06-17T0100Z
by Leo Vegoda 17 Jun '26

17 Jun '26

Hi, We deployed the current beta site on 17 June 2026. Please help us verify that the upgrade went well by testing https://beta.peeringdb.com. Please review the changes and test against the beta site to prepare for a production roll out. This release removed postfixing for set names in IRRs. In other words, IRR set names must now be prefixed like IRR::EXAMPLE-AS-SET and not suffixed with @IRR. Networks now also have more granular control over what they accept from IX-F imports. For instance, a network could accept the IP address but not accept the speed. Exchanges can export previews of changes made by a new export before confirming. There are also other minor changes and additional support features. We intend to release to production on 24 June 2026. We will also release the language packs that have reached maturity since our last release. Preview of the release is at: https://beta.peeringdb.com Release notes are published here: https://docs.peeringdb.com/release_notes/ As always, let us know at support at peeringdb.com with any comments/questions/concerns.
