[PDB-tech] Additional API End Points
by Anna Claiborne 31 Jul '15

31 Jul '15

Hello The new API, while nicely put together, is missing some easy to use end points for common tasks. When the mysqldump file is finally deprecated, collecting this information would require getting all the data through multiple API calls and sorting/counting programmatically, rather than just a simple mysql query. For ease of adoption, I’d like to suggest adding the following end points: countPeers - The count of peers at an exchange exchangePeers - All peers at a particular exchange. A flag to include all their IP information would be great. peerExchanges - All exchanges a peer participates in. Again, flag to include IP info. I’m sure there are more, but these are easy ones. -Anna

by Nalin Kuachusri 31 Jul '15

I just wanted to confirm that the current MySQL data dumps will continue to be available after 8/1. I had heard some rumors about a cutover on that date. Nalin Kuachusri Senior Software Engineer Mobile: (916) 834-1564 Skype: nalinkuachusri

[PDB-tech] Copy of schema/data for local sync
by Nalin Kuachusri 20 Jul '15

Is it possible to get a copy of the updated schema and data so we can start the migration? Even if it continues to evolve, it would be nice to get started with the process. -Nalin Nalin Kuachusri Senior Software Engineer Mobile: (916) 834-1564 Skype: nalinkuachusri

[PDB-tech] recommendations for creation of local peeringdb replica
by Callahan Warlick 18 Jul '15

18 Jul '15

Hey all! We previously used dbexport/peeringdb.sql <https://www.peeringdb.com/dbexport/peeringdb.sql> dumps to create a local replica of peeringdb data, primarily to improve perf/reliability of systems requiring frequent/bulk/automated queries. What's the best bet for creating a local peeringdb replica peeringdb2? Do a get via api for /asn, /fac, /ix, /ixfac, etc? Curious if there are others out there with the same use-case? Thanks!

[PDB-tech] Change of ID's for Internet Exchanges
by Jeroen Valcke 18 Jul '15

18 Jul '15

Hello, We're working on getting our in-house application compatible with the new PeeringDB API. We've noticed that the id's for the Internet Exchanges seems to have changed. Is this intentional? This change seems weird, especially since other id's remain unchanged. Could we possible revert this and use the 'old' ID's? For instance, AMS-IX New API - id 2 https://beta.peeringdb.com/api/ix/2 Old MySQL - id 26 mysql> select id from mgmtPublics where name='AMS-IX'; +----+ | id | +----+ | 26 | +----+ 1 row in set (0.00 sec) Best regards, -Jeroen-

[PDB-tech] Retrieving IX netblocks
by Jeroen Valcke 13 Jul '15

Hi, Is it still possible to retrieve the IPv4/IPv6 address ranges used by an IX? These used to be in the field ipaddr in mgmtPublics table and mgmtPublicsIPs table; Brgds, -Jeroen-
